ConComCon, or "C-Cubed", is a conference for science fiction convention organizers held each June in the Northwest. It is held under the auspices of the Seattle Westercon Organizing Committee ("SWOC"), which in addition to hosting ConComCon is also the parent corporation for Westercon 65, the Spokane in 2015 Worldcon bid, and Conflikt, the Seattle-area filk convention. In the past, SWOC has organized Cascadia Con, the 2005 North American Science Fiction Convention, and Westercons in 2003, 1997, and 1993. ConComCon has been held at various sites across the Northwest, including Seattle, Portland, Vancouver (BC), and sites in central Washington state.
ConComCon 19 is thrilled to announce that C.J. Cherryh and Jane Fancher will be speaking on what pros need and want from conventions, and what they wish concoms knew. CJ will be the final speaker on Saturday afternoon, followed by dinner at the Steam Plant Grill (less than a block from the hotel) with CJ and Jane for everyone who is interested.* * Everyone will be responsible for the cost of their own dinner, plus a couple of bucks to cover CJ and Jane.
ConComCon is a wonderful opportunity for networking, problem-solving, and cross-pollination of ideas, and the more people who attend, the more useful (and fun!) ConComCon will be. Please disseminate this message to your local convention list, and encourage your friends to go. It’s going to be AWESOME!
