Westercon 50 is pleased to host the Locus Awards. This event will lead off a social gathering following by a semi-formal (dress Hawaiian shirts) sit-down dinner feast. After dinner, the Westercon 50 Guests of Honor will take a bow, various timelines will be bent to facilitate some special awards, sand the Locus Awards will be presented.
The Locus Awards honor the best in fantasy and science fiction literature and art for the past year in 15 categories. The honors are selected by the readers of Locus through the annual Locus Poll & Survey. It can be argued that they are the most knowledgeable of the award voter sets. The Locus Awards have more nominations than the Hugos and Nebulas combined.
Locus Magazine is celebrating its 30th year. It is the publication of record for the science fiction publishing field.
